Ingredients
- 400g minced beef
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tsp paprika
- 20g breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Palestinian za'atar
- 1 egg
- 200ml tomato and basil sauce
- Toasted bread, to serve
Method
- In a large bowl, combine the minced beef, salt, pepper, paprika, breadcrumbs, olive oil, za'atar, and egg. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
- Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the meatballs for around 10 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Reduce the heat and pour in the tomato and basil sauce.
- Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, allowing the meatballs to absorb the flavours of the sauce.
- Serve warm with toasted bread, rice, couscous, or your favourite side dish.
